Canada Day | カナダの日 | Fête du Canada

Today is Canada Day, the national holiday on July 1st. It is also called as Moving Day here in the province of Quebec when many people in the city move on the same day. It is a tradition since the time when the province used to mandate fixed terms for leases of rental properties.

This afternoon, I was watching the world cup match, Argentina against Switzerland, and saw a fantastic goal scored by Argentina just around the end of the extra-time. It was assisted by Lionel Messi who is after all a great player!

今日、７月１日はカナダの日です。ここケベック州では、この日は「Moving Day」とも呼ばれ、町中たくさんの人が同じ日に引っ越しをする光景が見られます。これは昔ケベック州がアパートなどの賃貸不動産の契約期間を統一していたことよりはじまり、今では７月１日の引っ越しはケベックの伝統行事のようにもなっています。

さて、今日の午後はワールドカップ、アルゼンチン対スイスを観ていましたが、アルゼンチンが延長の末ゴールを決めて、ベスト８へと進みました。ゴールはメッシのアシストによるものでしたが、やはりメッシはすごい！

Aujourd’hui, c’est la fête du Canada, la fête nationale du 1er Juillet. C’est aussi appelé Moving Day ici dans la province de Québec où les gens de la ville déménagent sur le même jour. C’est une tradition depuis l’époque quand la province a chargé les conditions fixées pour les baux de location.

Alors, cet après-midi, je regardais le match de Coupe du monde, Argentine contre Suisse, et j’ai vu un but fantastique marqué par Argentine juste vers la fin du temps supplémentaire. Il a été assisté par Lionel Messi qui est après tout un grand joueur!
